Thanks to a partnership with the Google Made with Code initiative, local Girls Inc. organizations across the country have formed chapters that will meet regularly and host Made with Code parties. This program will introduce thousands of girls to coding, allowing them to discover how science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and its many applications offer exciting opportunities today and for the future.
We will identify thirty 7th and 8th grade girls to become “Made with Code Ambassadors” We will host 2 "Made with Code" camps that will each serve 15 girls. Girls are encouraged to invite as many of their friends as possible to the coding parties listed below. We will need about 100 girls to participate in the coding parties listed on the schedule below. Our 30 Code Ambassadors will be showing the girls invited to the coding parties what they learned during camp so that they can get excited about coding as well. Both camps will be held at:

Girls start out with a love of science and technology, but lose it somewhere along the way. Let’s help encourage that passion in teen girls.
In the United States, 74% of girls and teen girls express interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in middle school
By high school, only 0.4% of teen girls plan to major in Computer Science
CS jobs will be the highest-paying sectors over the next decade, paying almost $15K more than average
