We are so proud to announce that one of our own Girls Inc. of Jacksonville certified teachers, Dr. Kesha Walton, has been honored with a Regional Economic Education and Leadership (REEL) Award! REEL Award nominees and winners all have one thing in common – a commitment to economic and financial education.

Through her commitment to the Girls Inc. of Jacksonville High School Program, and under the mentorship and encouragement of our High School Program Manager Brenda Phillips, Dr. Walton mentors young women in our program ages 13 to 17 at Sandalwood High School. Teaching them about financial literacy, financial planning and helping them to form valuable relationships in the community.

Dr. Walton works hard with our high school girls to cultivate a relationship with them both in and outside of Girls Inc. programming time. She is an amazingly strong, smart & bold mentor and someone who our Sandalwood girls can look up to. There is no doubt that Dr. Walton is so deserving of this honor and fits right in with all the REEL Award winners of the past!

Congratulations Dr. Walton!
