ABOUT JUANITA

Ms. Juanita Forman-Lee attended J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College in Richmond, Virginia and Bank Street College for Early Childhood Development, achieving coursework certificates. Ms. Forman-Lee has been an advocate for and an educator of children for over forty years.

For the last seventeen years she has resided in Jacksonville, Florida where she has held myriad positions to include a Case Manager for the Monique Burr Foundation at the Children’s Crisis Center, working with the families of abused and neglected children, and as a Community Outreach Liaison for Community Connections (formally the YWCA) where she facilitated programs for the senior population, youth and their parents in communication and listening skills, effective discipline and parenting, self-esteem and character building, safety, anger management and conflict resolution and many other life skills workshops and programs.

For fifteen years she has been employed by Girls Incorporated as the Outreach Coordinator and then received a promotion to Director of Outreach/Afterschool six years ago, and now holds the position of Director of Identity Programs.

Ms. Forman-Lee has an open and winning way about her, whether working with the elderly, parents or youth. As she says, in the beginning some of the girls say “I don’t want to attend no classes” but when the sessions are complete they don’t want her to leave! When Ms. Forman is speaking about what she does at Girls Inc., she lights up, her enthusiasm is catching because she genuinely loves working with girls to inspire them to become strong, smart, and bold.

She has facilitated workshops at the Department of Juvenile Justice, Youth Crises Center, PACE, Boys Home of Jacksonville, Children’s Home Society, Boys and Girls Club, Communities In Schools, Girls Scouts, Community Connections, Team UP, Positive Youth Development Inc., the State Attorney’s Office, many schools (both private and public), and has a standing relationship with numerous religious communities.

Ms. Forman is skilled at Karaoke and DJ Style Entertainment, through her “Magic Music”.
